Under Construction!

July 18th, 2008

Please watch your step.  The site is under construction while I’m revamping the style of the comic.  Tune back in around August 15th.

No Update Today

July 8th, 2008

I’m switched from paper to Manga Studio Debut and I’m working out some kinks before I can finish this weeks comic.  The plus side is that the grey tones add a lot to the comic and it’s helping me get quicker at drawing each strip.

New RT! Today

July 1st, 2008

Here it is, the new style and story of the strip. As soon as I finished the inks I knew I loved this new style and then I added the grey tones and loved it even more.  The old strips are still in the archive for now but I’m going to be rearranging the site a bit this week as RT! changes from old to new (new archives, new cast page, etc.) so it should be a whole new experience by next Tuesday when the next strip is up. See you then.

RT!

June 25th, 2008

When I first started this comic I was faced with a real dilemma.  I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to do A) a daily comic strip or B) a weekly, page-format comic.  I eventually decided to go with the strip, but now, a couple months later, I think I should have gone the other way.  So I’m going to.  I relaunching the strip in the page format I wanted to do from the start.  It’ll be a little more dramatic and flow a LOT better.  When this story first started kicking around in my head it was as a monthly book that was pure adventure and space fun, but somewhere along the line it was warped into a daily humor strip and the story suffered for it.

Besides the story changes I think I generally need to spend less time on webcomics.  Not that this isn’t important to me, because it is, but when I’ve pictured my place in the world of comics it has always been as someone who creates books and tells lots of stories that have a beginning and an end, most of them as books.  I love webcomics and I read them every day, but I think I got swept up in all the things I love about them and I let that warp some of my own ideas.  I had written a couple stories and I found myself with no time to illustrate them because I was working on RT! every moment I wasn’t at my full time job.

So I’m starting the story over, in it’s original conception.  It’ll update on Tuesdays in a new format, with new (original concept) characters.  The new comic will have  more story per comic, since I won’t be trying to fit jokes into every strip.  All in all this is a better fit for me and for this story and I want to thank you for your support so far and hope you stick around for the new and improved RT! this coming Tuesday.

Words from your Blue-Ribbon Moose Caller

June 23rd, 2008

I’m still getting back in the flow of things post-vacation.  The comic will be back this Wednesday with some exciting changes.  I had a really productive week in Maine, just sketching and writing and thinking and all that good stuff.  I’m really excited about everything cooking in my brain.  I’ll spill the beens on Wednesday.
